SWTOR PvP - 3 Tips To Dominate Stars Wars: The Old Republic PvP

One of the many things that SWTOR players look forward to is the SWTOR PvP or the player versus player game format. The PvP format allows players to challenge and defeat others based purely on their skills, rather than having to rely heavily on others. This is a very rewarding aspect of the Star Wars player versus player format, but some players struggle at this kind of play. This article will reveal 3 tips on how to improve your winning ratio at SWTOR PvP.
SWTOR PvP Tip #1 - Play as the healer
If you are worried about winning in the warzone, then you should really consider being a healer. The one thing that Rift: Planes of Telara has taught me is that are never enough healers to go around. It would seem that since many of the classes in SWTOR are able to heal and that the healers would be found more often in warzones. However, what actually happens is that players who heal at flashpoints and dungeons just want to hang around and have fun. So in the end, there are almost no healers in any warzone. That's why being a healer in your team is actually a serious advantage, and especially if you want to win in games like Huttball.
SWTOR PvP Tip #2 - Play in groups of 2 or 3
Playing in pairs or trios can really help boost your success. Having 2 to 3 good players can also help with fast queues and early wins. The trick is to get a healer and a DPS class or two that can be effective when healed. An example of a great trio to play is to have one player as a warrior-like class, like a sentinel or a marauder, a healer and a player who is a caster or a ranged unit. The caster is basically the person who will control or stun opponents, while you can take down a carrier or finish an objective. The warrior player will help do and absorb the most damage, whilst you heal the player. Be warned, the warrior character can easily be taken down in group PvP focus-fire.
SWTOR PvP Tip #3 - Play for the win
It may sound a little straightforward but many players simply go online to play against random players without working out how they can win the game. In other words, you should think about the strategies that you should be implementing in the game and how it can benefit your team. For example, if you have chosen a strong character like a sentinel, then you can run about and take down 2 players. Even if you are defeated in the process, you have at least helped your team gain a team advantage of 1 extra person, which is obviously a winning advantage.

This is just 1 way to gain a winning advantage to help you win SWTOR PvP games. But if you're highly geared and level 50, then you could basically beat anyone! Learn how to level up quickly, master you favourite class and totally dominate PvP with the best SWTOR guide here.

SWTOR Guide - How To Be Awesome In Star Wars: The Old Republic

Star Wars: The Old Republic just released. Everyone will start racing towards the level cap to get there first and also be the first to see the end game content. Those who feel like they cannot compete with that really need to have a look at this little SWTOR guide.
I have played SWTOR in the beta sessions and I got an idea about the game and how you can be effective in it. I will not cover the basic stuff like combat, abilities and talents because these are very similar to other games. Instead, I will tell you how to be efficient in PvE, PvP and also ship missions.
If you are a fan of Bioware games and the Star Wars universe, then you will probably take your time with the quests. The conversations with the NPCs take a while since they actually talk to you. If you haven't done them so far, you will want to listen to them as some of the answers you chose might affect you in different ways. In order to skip conversations, simply use the Space Bar on your keyboard to speed things up.
In order to level fast, you should get every quest and do them, even Heroic ones. It will be easy to find a group as there are a lot of people in the beginning zones. The fastest way to get a group is to use the general chat.
Items will also be necessary to kill mobs fast. To get the best items, you should chose as a reward from quests, the recommendation pins. These can be traded for weapons and several parts of armor. Also, make sure you chose a side from the beginning, Light or Dark. Some items require a certain standing in either of them.
You will notice at level 9 that you will get a companion. Use him at all times as companions are designed to complete your class. For instance, the Inquisitor, which is a caster basically, will get a tank companion. The Bounty Hunter, which is a ranged DPS, heavy armor character, will get a healer. Using your companions right will enable you to do group quests alone as they can be very powerful.
SWTOR Guide - PvP
PvP in Star Wars: The Old Republic is pretty nice. If you are on a PvE server, then you will only find PvP in Warzones. These are instances where two groups of players meet and fight.
Warzones usually have objectives that must be done within certain time frames in order to win. A universal strategy to win in Warzones, is to do quests until you reach higher levels and then go to PvP. It will be easier to kill stuff then. Winning Warzones will get you PvP Recommendations which you can also use to get Blue items.
Make sure you organize your team if no one is, because if you don't, you will never win a fight. The objectives are very clear and just randomly fighting enemy players will not win you the match, even if you manage to defeat everyone you meet.
SWTOR Guide - Space Missions
Doing space missions in SWTOR is a great way to level. You get a lot of XP from them, especially when you have the dailies. You also get Recommendation pins which are used to buy upgrades for your ship.
You will notice that the missions are Heroic. Not to worry though, you can do them solo easily. You just have to focus on killing as many enemies as you can so that you won't take too much damage.
The most damage you will get will be from enemy ships. When they pass by you, they will return and head straight for you. Make sure you take them down when you see them going past you to avoid them damaging you too much.
Also, you need to watch for objects and other things in space that come up in your path. If you hit anything, you will get damaged. Use your mouse to avoid these objects and also enemy fire.
The best way to get better at this, is to do the same mission over and over. You will be able to finish it every time and get the rewards.
And that concludes this SWTOR guide. For a new player, I am sure that it will be very helpful in giving you an idea about what you need to do when you start playing the game. May the force be with you!

Announcing The Old Republic Guild Summit

Today, we are pleased to announce the first ever Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Guild Summit, being hosted in Austin, TX in March. Over the course of a few days, guild leaders from around the world will gather together to discuss the state of the game with the developers from BioWare Austin. Guild leaders (or a designated officer in the event of a guild leader being unable to attend) will participate in Q&A sessions with developers, roundtable feedback discussions, and will get a preview of some upcoming game features.
The goal of the summit is to facilitate an open discussion between guild leaders and the game design team. This event will provide an opportunity for attendees to voice their feedback directly to the teams responsible for the design of Star Wars: The Old Republic, hear the team’s thoughts and reasons behind design decisions, and discuss the current direction of the game.

The Guild Summit will be hosted from March 4th – 6th, 2012 at the DoubleTree Hotel Austin. Due to space limitations, the event will be invite-only. We've already invited guilds of various backgrounds and sizes to the Summit, from Endgame to Role-playing to PvP guilds, but we've got some space left for additional guild leaders who wish to attend. We ask that interested leaders submit an application, which can be found at this link.* Guild leaders will be evaluated based on the information provided in their application.
While we welcome applications from guild leaders from anywhere in the world, please be advised that the Summit will be conducted entirely in English. Applications will be accepted until 11:59PM CST (GMT -6) on February 10th. If you have any questions regarding the event, send us an email at guilds@swtor.com!
*Must be 21 or older to attend. Guild leaders selected to attend are responsible for all of their travel, food, and lodging expenses.
